Changes to the Weather-Relations-Management Platform

⚡️🚀⚡️ 0.6.0 - MEGA UPDATE: Multi-site, Site Comparison, Spatial Smoothing, Timezones, Teams, Improved Template Library (July 27th, 2024)​

Welcome to the biggest update in ClimaLinks thus far! Version 0.6.0 introduces a range of significant enhancements, new features, and bug fixes to further improve the performance, usability, and functionality of the ClimaLinks platform.

Functionality:

  • Timezone Handling: Implemented a site-based timezone management system that ensures accurate time-related data representation. Previously, the platform relied on the user's laptop timezone, which caused inaccuracies when managing locations in different time zones. Now, the timezone is determined based on the specific location being managed, providing more reliable and relevant data.
  • Enhanced Template Library Interface: Updated component for managing templates which is now consistent across all template types and both manual and AI-created, with expanded explanations for better understanding of what to input into each field.
  • Streamlined Login Process: Users can now immediately start using the app without needing prior approval, facilitating a quicker and more seamless entry into the platform.
  • Legal Document Streamlining: Enhanced the handling of legal documents, allowing users to easily confirm their agreement with terms. Notifications are provided on the platform when documents are out of date, ensuring compliance and up-to-date user agreements.
  • Better Team Management: Teams can now invite others more effectively, as well as re-invite or copy and manually give the link to users, making the team-building process much more efficient.
  • Multi-Sites: Companies can now work with multiple sites simultaneously given the appropriate account permissions, marking a major step forward in our WRM's ability to assist with weather intelligence needs.
  • Site Comparison: Along with multi-site functionality, we have also created the site comparison feature, allowing users to seamlessly compare multiple sites to check tasks and streamline work schedules. A beautiful map shows all sites at the same time. Stay tuned for similar asset management on this tab. Note: this function is only available to those on premium or higher plans.
  • Resilience AI: Meet our newest AI Assistant, your personal Resilience AI. When making asset templates, this AI will help you identify vulnerabilities to specific weather hazards and suggest potential responses to adapt and avoid risks.
  • Spatial Smoothing: Spatial smoothing takes into account not just the specific location, but also the three nearest points in the weather model, forming a 2x2 grid. This provides a more cautious forecast by averaging these values, ideal for users who want to be extra careful.
  • Introduction of Multithreading: We have moved the entire platform to a multi-threading framework to significantly increase the speed of all major pages and calculations.
  • GPT-4o AI Assistants: We have also moved our AI frameworks to OpenAI's GPT-4o and GPT-4o-mini endpoints for lightning-fast requests.

User Interface/User Experience:

  • Enhanced Sun/Moon Widget: Improved the visual representation and functionality of the sun/moon widget within the status panel, providing more accurate and dynamic sunrise and sunset indicators.
  • User Guidance Enhancements: Added description support and improved the flexibility of the input component, allowing for better user guidance and input handling.
  • Revamped Login and Signup Interface: Significant refresh to the sign-in and sign-up processes with new and improved visuals and animations for progress.
  • Site Page Mapping: Maps on your site (previously 'project') page now use open-source Leaflet for much more reliable and quick maps compared to the previous Google offering.
  • Revamped Template Library Connections: Now you can seamlessly create templates and immediately use them with our improved connections between the template library and your favorite functions, such as task checker.

Bugs:

  • Timezone Misalignment: Fixed the issue where the time used on the platform reflected the time on the user's laptop instead of the time at the site, ensuring accurate time representation.

⚡️🚀⚡️ 0.6.1 - Bug Patch (Date: July 31st, 2024)​

This patch focuses on improving security, fixing bugs, and enhancing existing features to ensure a smoother and more reliable user experience.

Bug Fixes:

  • Obfuscator Implementation: Enhanced security by implementing code obfuscation.
  • Teammate Onboarding Popup: Fixed the issue where new teammates in companies with multiple pre-existing sites received an awkward popup asking them to choose their site during onboarding.
  • Permission Restrictions: Corrected permissions to ensure users access only functions allowed by their subscription plan.
  • Heatmap Chart Clickability: Fixed the bug in the site comparison heatmap chart that prevented tasks from being clickable to get more details.
  • Site Comparison Information: Improved site comparison by properly including site information when clicked on the map, including team and assets present.
  • Map Polygon Drawing: Fixed the map component bug where drawing a polygon resulted in continuously recalculating the area in an infinite loop.
  • Asset Monitor Tile View: Fixed the issue where the tile view in the asset monitor only showed assets at risk, even when the 'All' function was selected.
  • Site Comparison Map Enhancements: Improved the map on the site comparison page by implementing a point function to keep current points in the window of interest. Enhanced the starting point by increasing zoom and centering when no points are being tracked (i.e., empty map).

⚡️🚀⚡️ 0.6.2 - Bug Patch (Date: August 2nd, 2024)​

This patch focuses on refining team management, improving user permissions, and enhancing the overall user experience through various fixes and updates.

Bug Fixes:

  • Teammate Name Clearing: Resolved the issue where adding a new teammate would retain the name of the previously added teammate. Now, the name field is cleared every time you submit.
  • Team Page Update: Moved the team management feature from the site page to its own dedicated team page. This change addresses the confusion of seeing the entire team only after clicking on the site if they were present.
  • Standardized Feature Table: All features have been moved to a standardized table format with new plans for free and premium users. This enhances clarity and accessibility.
  • Upgrade Button: Added a button to upgrade from the free plan to the premium plan. Full Stripe integration for payments will be available soon.
  • User Permissions: Introduced new user permissions with distinct admin and user roles. The member who created the company is designated as the admin. While currently limited in features, future updates will allow admins to grant admin rights to other teammates.

⚡️🚀⚡️ 0.6.3 - Bug Patch (Date: August 7th, 2024)​

This patch brings several user experience improvements and bug fixes to enhance the overall performance and reliability of the platform.

Bug Fixes and Improvements:

  • Resilience Agent Interaction: Improved interactions with the Resilience AI, including clearer loading indicators and restrictions on saving until a response strategy is selected.
  • Asset Overview Page: Enhanced the user experience on the overview page by removing the unnecessary 'See More' button for assets when no assets are present.
  • Site Overview Page: Improved the UI/UX of the site overview page, providing more space for site tasks to be displayed.
  • Spatial Smoothing: Fixed the spatial smoothing bug, ensuring this feature works for all users with the appropriate subscription tier. This involved backend risk engine adjustments and frontend setting error corrections.
